You Are Not Alone: Let's Talk ED

As I don’t have a penis, I thought for a considerable amount of time about writing this content.

And decided it was an emphatic yes, I will!

Approximately 1 in 5 men across the UK have been affected by Erectile Dysfunction (that’s

millions of people)

ED is when people with a penis find it difficult to maintain or get an erection hard enough for

sexual intercourse.

This is a genuine problem, sometimes physical, sometimes mental. Many may find it embarrassing.. And some feel ashamed to seek helpful advice or even talk about it.

There are medicines, injections and medical procedures out there for ED (but I’m not qualified to

give that type of advice.) BUT by bringing attention to ED - hopefully it means that more people will talk about it more openly.

Each and everyone of us are individual and should be treated as such.

This blog will be discussing some natural ideas which may help people who experience ED.

Please remember that you know your own body and if you’re talking with friends/partner(s) and

have any concerns about sexual health issues, then contact your GP or your local NHS sexual

wellbeing clinic for support and advice.

I spend a lot of time researching and speaking to a wide variety of people (thank you

to those of you who choose to speak openly to me ♥️)

Firstly, it is normal to sometimes lose an erection.

Excessive alcohol can affect blood flow and may lower blood pressure causing the penis not to

become erect.

Cigarettes damage our blood vessels and can also slow down blood flow to the penis.

Porn - In some cases, watching a lot of porn can desensitise people and give unrealistic

expectations of real life and result in low self esteem.

Some medicine taken for anxiety, stress and depression list loss of libido as a side effect.

Okay, enough already...what may help?

Pelvic floor exercises- sit comfortably and squeeze your penis with the muscles as if you’re

trying to stop urinating, wait a few seconds, release, relax and continue for a few times each day, this helps strengthen the muscles. Any pain stop and seek advice.

Kegel balls are also useful again to strengthen the pelvic area, and yes, men can use them in the anus.Seek professional advice before using to help with ED

People can orgasm without an erection- use other forms of stimulation, stroking, licking, oral sex, using toys..

There is the ‘stuffing method’ which is when the flaccid penis is inserted for intercourse, this is

generally easier for vaginal rather than anal sex.

Talk and communicate with your partner(s) this is a sensitive issue for many.

Understanding, comfort, honesty and feeling validated is so important for all involved.

Again I will repeat what I always say.....masturbating is good for you! This does not cause ED

and is great for well being and mental health.

Some foods may benefit too: Chillies and garlic (The heat we experience as we eat them relaxes the arteries and increases blood flow)

Oysters are a great source of testosterone.

Fruit and veg helps to increase blood flow (Watermelon especially)

Good news though.. dark chocolate and coffee (in moderation) both lower our blood pressure

and also increase blood flow.

So enjoy some tasty Mediterranean foods, try different sexual positions and visit a reputable adult shop to discuss toys and herbal remedies that may help you enjoy a rewarding,

sensual sex life,

You’re not alone. Talk and learn more about ED.

Positive Vibes,

Pleasure Seekers. ♥️
