Warm welcome back to the FantasyMinx blogs you beautiful people.
So, if you haven't visited before then this is the vibe....no shame, no pressure just honest chats about the things we get curious about (even if we don't say it out loud).
And today it's all about Sounding!
If you've been quietly wondering, googling or just stumbled across the term and thought wait...what is that? You are in exactly the right place.
Nothing scary I promise.
Sounding Rods are smooth, body-safe tools that were originally used in the medical profession, but are now explored by individuals for new sensations and a different kind of body awareness.
They usually come in sets (yes, that matters).
Different thickness- (mm).
Shape- some straight some slightly curved.
Material- stainless steel and silicone.
Think of it less like something extreme and more like adult play that requires a bit more knowledge and care than your average sex toy
Is this for you? Curious? Actually trying it?
This is where we slow things right down. Sounding Rods are genderless, but bodies are all different, and with something like this, that really matters.
Some people need to be cautious due to anatomy, whilst others have a bit more room to explore gradually. This isn't a rush, a trend, and definitely not a “lets just see what happens” moment. It is a maybe, slowly, if it feels right kind of thing. And if it doesn't feel like your thing? Completely valid and you're still very welcome here.
Okay, gentle steps, lets keep it safe...this is one of those areas where safety is not only important but essential.
Go slow (then slow a bit more).
Start with the smallest rod first, always.
Lube! Sterile water based lubricant. Never skip this.
Never force anything into the Urethra (if its not gliding then its not happening).
Only use good quality Sounding Rods (no DIY, no shortcuts). We have plenty available on our website.
If your body says “Nope”? Listen as there is no negotiating with it.
Cleaning and Care (Non-Negotiable):
Stainless steel rods wash in warm water with antibacterial soap.
Use a medical grade disinfectant eg isopropyl alcohol.
Quality stainless steel toys can be boiled in water for 5 minutes.
Silicone rods can be washed in warm water and a mild soap.
Antibacterial toy spray.
Air dry - no fluffy towels please as they leave fibres.
Little tip.....keep your toys stored somewhere clean and dry then they will be safe and ready to
use any time!
Please check product information for any specific care instructions
Fun fact time now
“Sounding” comes from old medical practices where a doctor would gently insert the rods to the urethra to check the bladder for stones, if they heard a clicking sound then it meant that the rod had touched a stone....thankfully now we have scanners and x-rays.
Sounding rods are designed to increase in size gently, this isn't a race. A lot of people describe the sensation as more about pleasurable pressure and fullness. Stainless steel rods can be warmed or cooled with water in an appropriate bowl/container.
This space is about feeling good, being informed but as always do your own research from regulated sources, such as this blog!
